Buster + Punch at Redbrick
The concept for the Funktion Alley store was conceived in 2006 in Malmö, Sweden; a town renowned for its vibrant art and design culture. Inspired by their surroundings the founders of Funktion Alley set out to support new up-coming designers in their efforts to launch product portfolios in the UK and offer some of the best original design available.
They are delighted to be an official stockist of Buster + Punch, who have gained the global reputation as one of the leading brands in precision-cut lighting and beautifully crafted hardware.
Founded by architect and industrial designer Massimo Buster Minale. Buster + Punch is a London-born home fashion label which Minale launched in 2013, with a vision to make extraordinary products more accessible.
Their story began in a garage in East London, where they started working with rare, solid materials they discovered a passion for making extraordinary items for everyday use. Heavily inspired by London's fashion, sub-culture and music scenes, they inject attitude into their crafted products through collaborations with street artists, bike builders, musicians and fashion designers
Made from solid metal and finished with their acclaimed signature, diamond-cut, knurling pattern … Buster + Punch offer a curated collection of extraordinary home fittings, including light switches, dimmers, sockets and euro plates that feel amazing with every touch.
With the reputation as the ‘world's first designer LED bulb’, the Buster Bulb has a resin light pipe at the centre which allows the bulb to create a subtle and ambient light, but also offers a focussed spotlight that is perfect to direct onto tables and surfaces below.
Exhaust is a range of spotlights inspired by motorbike exhausts and designed to elevate something that would normally be considered as functional lighting. The spotlights exude a delicate metallic glow whilst still creating a directional spotlight.
Funktion Alley is located on the mezzanine floor at Redbrick, with an ever evolving range of beautifully functional, practical and ethical designs.
