We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and detail-oriented Curtain & Soft Furnishings Maker to join our dedicated Yorkshire workshop team.

ABOUT MARSH & CO.

With over 40 years of British heritage and craftsmanship, Marsh & Co. is a luxury interior design studio and manufacturing house. From initial concept and 3D visualisation to local handcrafted production, we specialise in high-end bespoke cabinetry, fine furniture, and luxury soft furnishings.

In this role, you will handcraft bespoke, made-to-measure curtains, pelmets, roman blinds, and luxury soft furnishings for high-profile client projects. Working directly with top-tier fabrics and high-performance automated systems, you will take pride in producing top-specification finishes that match our exact design standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Handcrafting & Sewing: Hand-sew and machine-stitch high-end bespoke curtains (including pinch pleat, wave, goblet, and pencil pleat headings), interlined drapes, roman blinds, pelmets, cushions, and valances.

Fabric Prep & Measurement: Precision measuring, pattern matching, cutting, and handling of delicate luxury textiles, velvet, silk, heavy linen, and pattern-matched designer fabrics.

Digital Orders & Specification: Work proficiently with digital job sheets and workshop IT systems to review order details, technical drawings, drop measurements, and client specifications transmitted from our design studio.

Quality & Specification: Ensure all finished soft furnishings meet Marsh & Co.’s strict quality control standards, accurate drop measurements, and client specifications.

Collaborative Workflow: Work closely with our internal design team, workshop managers, and installation technicians to ensure seamless execution from initial technical drawings/renders to final fitting.

Hardware & Systems Awareness: Prepare curtains to pair effortlessly with specialist tracks, motorised/automated systems (e.g., Silent Gliss, Somfy), and custom window treatments.

Workshop Maintenance: Keep a clean, organised, and safe workbench and workshop space, managing pattern templates, outgoing orders and fabric stock efficiently.

ABOUT YOU

Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a professional curtain maker or soft furnishings seamstress within a high-end interior design or bespoke manufacturing environment.

Craftsmanship: Expertise in traditional hand-finishing techniques (hand-hemming, hand-pinching pleats, stab-stitching, pattern matching) alongside proficient use of industrial sewing machines and overlockers.

Fabric Knowledge: In-depth understanding of diverse fabrics, linings, interlinings,
thermal backings, and stretch behaviours.

Precision & Detail: Outstanding attention to detail, math/measurement accuracy, and high quality standards.

Team Player: Strong communication skills and a positive attitude in a collaborative studio and workshop setting.
