Conran Timeline
Terence founded the Conran Design Group in 1956 with the aim to design contemporary furniture and interiors for a new generation, developing the singular Conran vision, philosophy and aesthetic.
In 1962, Terence opened an innovative flat-pack furniture manufacturer, the first of it's kind in the UK, known then as ‘knock down’, which produced easy-assemble Conran ‘Summa’ furniture, making ‘plain, simple, useful’ design accessible to all.
